Messages for my Impact broddas and mates all ova the world. Great prayers are being answered.
24/7 Prayer may have slowed for awhile at the chuch but its effects will be long lasting. I have been prayin for two guys specifically, One to return to his love and service for our Lord. It is gonna be a long road, but I believe God will be drawing him back to His love and service. The otha one is for my mate down in Aussie, Brenden is praying for his dream to continue, that is to come and play baseball in the States. for relationships to be strengthened and His love for GOD to grow more and more.
Delerious? was awesome, It was more than I could have expected. The lyric content, their heart for worship, their eagerness to grow and learn, the light show and video graphics for showing the lyrics was off the hook.. Too much, But I loved it.
U2, what i have learned of Bono and U2 recently has increased my listening pleasure and my respect for them. hey they have two new CD's coming out and a Movie, U23D. It should be really awesome. Bono uses scripture for his song selection and or messages. He is a true believer. just check out "40" or Pride. awesome stuff and "Gloria"
Well more coming soon.
Following Him

Amplified '07

One year afta I got back into the HPC student ministry, which is REFUGE, We did AMplified and now a year has past. Too many times we are drowning. But the good news is that Jesus comes and pulls us out. He rescues us from our sometimes or most of the times dingo decisions. Yes we are like Dingos. dumb dogs. But God will rescue us as long as we are hoping in Him Trusting in his power to make up for our lack.
In HPC Athlietic sports ministry we just finished with our soccer season and are about to start the basketball seasom. I really never thought I would be saying this but I miss soccer. i hated it when I was a little kid cuz another kid had kicked me in the shin. This was before shin guards. I was even kind of sad. I love being outdoors. Getting sun and fresh air, haha.
Most Louisiana air is smoggy with plant stuff or with other alergents. Is that a real word.
We have a couple crazy weeks before us. One Way Worship concert this Wednesday, Celebration Weekend soon afta and next Wednesday Ms. Joyce Meyers is in town for two Wednesday night services.
Then Basketball is in full throtle.
Stay strong and depend on His strength to make up for our lack.
As Coach Julio Melera would say, Don't desire Lack.

Too long for Great News

Where do I begin? When avaiable I do stuff with Refuge and the Missions Lifegroup.
Speaking of Refuge, I had gone to Destin with them to this Sweet Resort, San Destin Resort. It was awesome. Adam McCain was our speaker and preacher. He can preach it. Late Nite band did the worship and some of the Refuge band members help lead worship in the morning services. Totally awesome.
Missions Minded Life Group led by my fave missions world travelin couple, Adam and Kim Brough lead it and are awesome. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Share testimonies, pray for our missions teams and other missionaries accross the world. We have gotten and will be very hands on in mssions through the various missions teams we send out.
Speaking of missions and what i do with sports and HPC Athletics, we will be traveling great lengths accross the world this next several years. We will be doing sports camps and clinics in Costa Rica, New York City, South Africa, Italy and beyond. Sports and Missions good combo.
I need to get pics up here soon. Speaking of Pic ups, pray for the beast as another clutch is out. Need fixen soon.
Stay strong, Stand Tall, Stand Out, Change the World.
You are Victorious. Exhibit will be fueled by ARC, Association of Related Churches. 10 in all will be repped there. Some of my favorites will be there. Celebration Church from Jaxonville, FL, C3 from NC. I have been working part time with my ol job at Albertson's Supamartket. They call me a courtesy clerk. I am decently courtious and do well to help anyone I can. Besides this it is baseball the rest of the time. I work about 27 to 36 hours at Albesures, haha, but about 40+ with baseball. I love it.
Did I mention that I have moved from a small apartment into a nice suburban house. yes i am now in the burbs. Livin good. Gary Adams is the great guy who owns the house and has a cool grey whimerama. Busy on the baseball fields ever since Elevate Gradigation. Yep, I r a graditate. just kidden you grammatically speaking people who this may iritate.
Really though, I have been out on the baseball fields ever since and even before elevate graduation. I was even out there on the day of. Talk about dedicated to my favorite sport and supervisor, Kerry Wilkerson. Sports ministry is exactly that a great work and great ministry with alot of OT put into it. But to see the faces of the coaches and the kids, even their parents come game days. Its priceless. Thinkking of that ol Visa commercial. Baseball $7.00, Baseball hat, $16.00, baseball bat, $75.00 dayu at the fields and seeing kids come to know Christ in a deeper way, Priceless.
Ministry with Refuge Jr. and Sr. guys has been great. We are getting ready to go to Destin, FL, for Exhibit. Youth Summer camp with ten other churches in the ARC conference. ALso Serve team with J.P. Brumfield has been cool. We went downtown Baton ROuge today to hand out Gum to the business people. We got some great and happy responses. Several wanted us to come down every day. One young man wants us to get involved in volunteering in the City Care program reaching young kids in the schools. Sounds great, could be an awesome open door for ministry in the future.
Well that is what is going on. It was a crazy trip. We went from a small boat, that almost did not make it out of the Amazon inlet rivers due to high grass getting stuck in the engine and rudder of the boat. But fearlessly, Issac Williams would jump into the gator infested waters and pull the grass and weeds oujt.
After getting off that boat, we got on a bigger one in Malese, Brazil. After getting off that boat which was really loaded and later finding it had leaked some Carbon Monoxide into the cabin of the boat. Mr. James Williams found it out and had the people raise the tarps and let fresh air get back into the cabin.
We got off this boat and got in taxis and headed for Manaus. Our taxi drivers were crazy but good, going all over the road, but that was to avoid the bumps and pot holes, yes they have them in Brazil too.
We got theri about 9:00am and rested at the Willians house till 3:30pm We then headed to the Church campus of HPC or as they had on their logo, MSV. It was great that evening at the Campus met several young students of the area schooos nad then it was time for Praise and Worship with the band and Lauren who did a fantastic job. Next we did two dramas, Agnus Dei and the Heart Drama. Each did well, even great. Blake was Jesus for Agnus Dei and Megan, Andrew and I were ones who needed healing of various infirmities.
Next Megan was a young girl who would give her heart away to those who she wanted to be like. Lauren was a photographer of Models, Blake was a rock star, I was a Soccer star, Jason was Romeo and Michelle was a flirt in this drama. Finally andrew came on to save Meghan from self destruction and gave her a new heart. Great Job Meghan, Elevator of the Year.
After service,a young man named Micheal did some pretty awesome skateboard trick. The next brazilian Tony Hawk.

Did I say we carried Lumber for a mile?

Did I say that we carried this lumber, six to nine feet long, weighing 75-90lbs each water saturated for about a mile from the jungle woods, through slippery slopes, over burned down logs and through high grass weeds and other such for about a mile per trip.
We definitly got our work outs in then.

More Adventures from the Amazon

Well we finally got into the interior of the Amazon and found out that we, guys were gonna be staying in a grass, thatch roof hut, with dirt floor and bamboo poles for walls, crazy huh? It actually was pretty cool deal. Until we heard, the howling monkeys from 12:00midn-2:30am, from 3:00am-5:00am the roosters crowed, no sign of daylight until 5:30am, from 5:30-6:30am the pastor of the village church, named Hemundo would come and pump water for a outhouse and shower just outside our hut.
The next thing was the whole team, guys and girls, Jason and Blake would carry two to three slabs of wood, they were getting their workouts in, Andrew and I did one and sometimes two of these, the girls did one each, but by the end of our time there all the wood was out of the jungle and the future missionaries apartment was being built. Praise God.
Next, we saw and found several forms of animals and other beasts that were pretty scary, a scorpion found on a piece of wood Jason Kling had picked up, it was starring him in the face. He quickly and wisely dropped the board. Blake later killed it. Next day Blake and Rob Gros found a banana snake, highly venemous. It just slithered away.
A bat would fly around in the church at night where Meghan and Lauren were sleeping, they also saw a hairy tarantula.
The food we ate was great and the people were awesome.

Mission Trip to Brazil

Well, where do I begin? Let's start in the airport in Miami. Things started going crazy there, but we managed to get through and get to Manaus. Although our luggage got held over for a week we got there and began to get ready to go to the interior.
We left the Williams' house that day and hopped a boat to head for the Jungle. After a 14-15 hour ride, we jumped from that boat to another, yet smaller one and proceeded to head into what they called alligator lake, yet no gators we in that lake. It is said that from the sky, the lake is in the form of an alligator. Where we were to be was in the belly of the gator. We never once saw one, nor any live pirahna, nor any annacondas. They just were not where we were. Thank God. We had enough adventures yet to come. God, Jesus was their and everything great happened.

My tax return came, Praise God

Just as I was getting dirt poor, it came and now I have money for food, gas, and other needs, such as cell phone payments. Former Florida Gator, Mr. Heisman trophy winner and team leader for the 1996 National Championship Florida gators football team. He came to present his ministry, Desire Street Ministry and Academy to the church. Due to Hurricane Katrina, it wiped out the ministry base in New Orleans, but he and the ministry team are looking to plant the Ministry and Academy here in BR.
Check out our Pastor's blog at Healingplacechurch.org and or check out TheGoal.com, it has an indepth story on Danny and the DSM.

Guess what else I got to do this past weekend, Run a 5k. The people from Aussie are awesome and realy cool to hang with. Just over the past month we have had 6 people from Australia pass through HPC. Ms. Christine Caine and her husband, Reuben Morgan the Hillsongs youth worship leader, and now just last night my favorite Photograher Ken Duncan. I have his book Australia Wide. Makes me wanna be there now and I do mean now. but i can wait. But God you gotta get me there.
Ken spoke of the Passion of the Christ and of His never book America Wide, anothe cool book. He really knows Mel Gibson. Wouldn't it be something for Him to come through?
Another Aussie I would love to have come through is Steve Grace, awesome muscian with a heart for God and the people of the nations. He had a CD out called Children of the Western World. The sound is a blend of Country, Rock and with a heart of the gospel in it.
Enough of this now, gotta go to staff stuff. When you pass through the fire it will not burn you or set you ablaze. This was in reference to surfing and passing through waves overhead and duck diving. I nailed it right at 19 minutes and 43 seconds. The goal time was between 19 and 20 minutes.
I also found this out about the surfology, to get Amped is to get stoked. To be a shark biscuit is to be a body boarder. Sounds fun eh, Well my goal is to one day when I see a shark is to go bite it before He bites me and then punch him in the nose.
Well that is it for the weekend update.
Keep strong in Him
In His service

Getting AMP-lified

This past weekend was so strong in that over 200 Students got real and got strong with God. He just came in Spirit and in Power. Ms. Christine Caine brought it, the Word, the Gospel, the Aussie accent and great new terminology, such as Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oye, Oye, Oye, the Australian national chant. at Crikette and Soccer games. Also from the Crocadile man, Croikie mate, cheq her, she's a beauty. But what happened in the homes and the relations built and how guys grew was the real strong point.
My heart goes out to a couple young men, D'aylan and Brennen who have lost significant family members. For D'aylan he lost his mother on Saturday night around 7:00pm he found out. Brennen had lost his uncle just not too distant past. Just remenber guys, Jesus promise and commitment that he will never leave nor forsake us.
Other young men are looking to boldly share Christ in their schools, but remember that you have the biggest target on you now and Satan will start messin with ya. But also remember that God will bless ya strongly.

Aussie Invasion at HPC

The Aussies are here, the Aussies are here.
Christine and Nick Caine are here in town, and coming tomorrow will be Reuben Morgan and Hillsong's United Band. for the HPC's One Way Worship Concert Event. This past weekend was packed with stuff and boy was I glad. Also now the sun is shining and the temps are on the rise.
First, after last Thursday night, Elevate Volleyball night at the area Beach Volleyball courts, oh we really don't have a beach but it would be nice. At the sand VB courts. My team Doo-doo Diakanos, well played kinda,... bad. We did not win 1 game. On the other hand my friend Jacob's team won the whole vb tourny thing. They went 4-0, we went 0-4, haha.
Next can Sunday service at St. Franisville. Worship was awesome as always. Good turn out, saw great people and heard a great message by Pastor Timmy Straight on giving of yourself.
Later that day, 4:00pm we had the Upward baseball coaches meeting for this coming season. We had 30 prospective coaches in attendy. Upwards baseball looks to have a fun and great season.
On Monday, I got up had bacon for breakfast and then went out by the apts pool. Read for about three and a half hours.
Finally on over to the highland campus for the Upward basketball Awards Ceremony. Did it go great? Oh yea. Over 500 hundred kids were there. And two hundred parents in attendy. 8 year old Nicole sang the National Anthem, did she land it perfectly or what? She is awesome. No flaws. The commentaries and the program was great. Do we give our kids the bump-up or what. You know it. At the end of the evening we went to Smokey Bones BBQ to celebrate. Great time.
This coming weekend looks much more relaxed.
I forgot to mention that last weekend we did two LSU athletic concessions sales. We took LSU and brought the community closer to God.. With comments and quotes like this, "I didn't know that Christians could rock out like they did." and from tne same guy, "I normally have to deal with drunk or high rockers who have bad attitudes and a are idiots." But other people said that they never experienced anything like it before. The church taking over a bar and club to bring the Gospel, and even more it being free.
The band guys, Josh, Jason, Rob, Mike, Mark, Doug tore it up. Rocked hard and were in the zone. Mike Haman delivered a smashing hit with a short but sweet message of hope. Todd and Bruce set an awesome stage for the backgrounhd. Finally all the volunteers brought it home with their great personalities and smiles of welcome and ministry. I had gotten news of the past weekend that some of athletes of my former school campus were injured in a car accident, another report of my roommates coming down with illness and injuries, and then of my mate in Aussie, losing his father to a heart attack. Needless to say, prayer was and is needed in the greatest way for these young men and their families. I remembered a video and a sermon illustration from my pastor about Giant Faith Man and seeing how quick and expedient his prayers were answered. Mind you that God will answer all our prayers but they may or may not be what we truly desire until later on. Our faith for others will cover them and work healing, comfort and strength but it is because of God's grace and love for us and our loved ones. I also had a great need of recovery and raising from the dead of my cell phone that I washed in our clothes washer. Accidently fell in and was washed, not dryed though, but I recovered and later the next day, it had come back to life, air dryed and is better now than it was before. In the midst of the action my phone did wig out a couple few times, hmm!! But I prayed to God, He knows my needs of it and he answered both restoring it and help and assistance from my roommate and bro Blaker.
"If you have the faith of a mustard seed, say to this... and it shall come to pass." This past weekend our Elevate team went to Wacko, Waco, TX. What we experienced there and how the Spirit of God moved out the former expectations of what the conference would be like was just awesome. Worship music, Totally Awesome, even learned a couple new songs, The Revelation Song. It is all what the crowd in heaven will be singing when the 2nd coming happens. Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God almighty who was and is and is to come. And with creation I'll sing, praise to the King of Kings. You are my everything. yeah!!
Well that is the chorus and part of it. Now do ya get my drift.
The testimonies of the speakers, especially Larry Crowder and Keith Wheeler. Keith has taken the Cross around the world. The testimonies and the people touched by it, WOW. Look him up on the web, www.KW.org.
Monday, we got up, did some reading, and studying. Then went to my first workout this year. Shoulders, Biceps and Chest. Now I'm a bit tight, even some sore. Came back to the pad and cleaned up the place. Rearrangment and change was needed and is now the best place ever.
